One of the simplest ways I make ordinary days feel better is by putting on music whenever I do housework. It completely changes the experience for me into a very uplifting and positive one! Washing pots and pans or rinsing dishes for the dishwasher stops feeling like a chore and starts feeling almost like a little spa moment. The music lifts the energy, the warm water is soothing, and before I know it the kitchen is clean and I actually feel good instead of drained.
My brother once told me to live every day as a vacation, and he is right. That advice stuck with me. It does not mean escaping responsibility or pretending everything is perfect. It means choosing a high-vibe approach on purpose so that even the everyday tasks support a better, more enjoyable life. Housework with music is just one example. The same mindset shows up in how I cook, how I move, how I shop, and how I spend my free time.
A lot of it really is a state of mind. I focus on the positive as much as I can. I try to live simply and cleanly. I practise being grateful and content with what I already have. Those four things — positivity, simplicity, cleanliness, and gratitude — keep me steadier than any complicated system ever could. When life feels heavy, returning to them usually helps more than adding extra pressure or extra stuff.I am mostly a minimalist. The main exceptions are my books, my music, and my tarot cards. Even with those, I am not extreme about it. I do not let collections take over the house. Having a few things that genuinely bring joy is different from accumulating for the sake of accumulating. The rest of my belongings stay fairly lean. Less clutter means less to clean, less to organise, and more mental space.
That simplicity supports the calm, balanced feeling I prefer as a Libra.Budgeting is another practical part of this approach. I set a modest monthly limit and try hard not to go over it. When I do buy something, I look for inexpensive options first — discount stores, dollar stores, or second-hand finds. Some of my favourite and most valuable old books came from second-hand shops or online resale. Getting something useful or beautiful without spending a lot feels satisfying. It also keeps the focus on contentment rather than constant wanting.Reading is a daily habit for me. I make time for it almost every day, and I often share thoughts about what I am reading on Twitter under @annagarasto
