Welcome to The Healthy Italian Goddess. I decided to share the effective healthy lifestyle I actually live—one shaped by goddess energy, my Italian roots, and a real La Dolce Vita mindset. The core idea is simple: Why suffer in anything you do? Life is meant to feel good, not like a constant grind.I am a Libra, and that means harmony and balance matter to me. I look for ways of eating, moving, and living that support steadiness rather than extremes. I also love to research. I stay open-minded and I am always tweaking and improving what works. Nothing is set in stone. If something stops feeling right or new information appears, I adjust. It does not hurt that I am aging like fine wine. I do put in the work, but never in a suffering way. I choose actions that make me feel good and that lift my energy and spirit. That is the filter I use for almost every decision: Does this support how I want to feel today and over the long term? This blog is where I will go deeper into the details—food, movement, mindset, daily habits, and the small choices that add up.
I will also post on X. I am thinking about creating some animated videos too, but that is still a work in progress. Everything happens step by step and bit by bit. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither is a sustainable lifestyle or a new brand. The name The Healthy Italian Goddess captures the mix that guides me. Italian roots bring the love of good olive oil, fresh ingredients, simple preparations, and the pleasure of eating well. Goddess energy is about carrying myself with strength and self-respect while staying soft and receptive. La Dolce Vita is the reminder that enjoyment and ease belong in the process.
None of this requires perfection or deprivation. It asks for awareness, consistency, and the willingness to keep refining.A practical example of how this mindset shows up happened recently with the contaminated-salad situation. There has been a large outbreak of cyclospora linked mainly to certain iceberg lettuce products (including some bagged and shredded items that were recalled). Even though the situation has been more concentrated in the United States, it is a useful reminder that food safety is part of a healthy lifestyle. Instead of continuing with the usual bagged mixes, I shifted. I am using whole vegetables I can wash thoroughly myself—cucumber, avocado, leafy greens I handle at home, and other sturdy options that fit my regular meals. I already lean toward simple, clean preparations, so the change felt natural rather than restrictive. You can see the exact X post I shared about what I am doing instead here on my X @annagarasto.That small adjustment is typical of how I operate.
I research what is happening, stay open to better options, and choose the path that keeps both safety and enjoyment intact. The same approach shows up in the rest of my routine: the flexitarian Mediterranean-leaning meals with clean-keto elements, the daily deep breathing, the low-impact movement, the careful choice of products, and the steady focus on what actually uplifts me.I will unpack all of these pieces gradually on the blog. Some posts will be about food and practical recipes or swaps. Others will cover movement, breath work, mindset, or the research I find useful. The tone will stay the same as this introduction—clear, personal, and free of pressure. I am not here to sell a rigid system.
I am here to share what has been effective for me so far and to keep refining it in public. If you are someone who wants a healthy lifestyle that still feels like living—balanced, enjoyable, and rooted in real daily choices—then you are in the right place. We will move forward the same way everything lasting is built: step by step, bit by bit. No suffering required.Thank you for being here at the beginning. More to come soon, both on the blog and on X.
Please note that I am not a doctor or a health expert. I am just going by my own experience and knowledge based on my Italian heritage.Been avoiding fresh salad lately but still making tasty salads the Italian Way! Using my Instant Pot, stove top & oven I'm making Broccoli, Chickpea, Lentil, Dandelion, Roasted Vegetables, Sweet Potato&other cooked salads. Learned from my parents. Tons of free recipes online too! pic.twitter.com/97KZxRKmbX
